City of Maple Plain and the West Hennepin Chamber of Commerce announce:
Creative Intersections
PURPOSE: A grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council has allowed the Discovery Arts Council, City of Maple Plain Design Team and the West Hennepin Chamber of Commerce to create a mini-grant process to solicit projects to create art in Maple Plain. These funds will be used to stimulate active participation in the Arts from groups and individuals in the community and/or result in public art that enhances our city. The past work that was done with the Minnesota Design Team and the ongoing efforts of the partnering organizations to enhance the community provides the framework for utilizing these arts mini grants to further develop the spirit and character of the community. The mini grants are designed to assist participants in covering costs of developing their specialized endeavors. Moneys may be used for artist stipends, supplies, installation, recruitment efforts or other project related expenses.
GRANT AMOUNTS: Each selected group or individual may receive a grant from $500 up to $4000. Moneys will be paid once the project is complete unless the applicant requests prepayment of funds to secure supplies, etc.
ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS: Any individual or group may apply but consideration will be given for artists living, working, or going to school in the area of Maple Plain.
